More than $3,800 was raised as part of Fares for Food Day - good for 4,950 meals to be served this giving season. The money collected on DART buses Dec. 11, is being donated to the Des Moines Area Religious Council Food Pantry Network, the largest food pantry network in Iowa with sites in Ankeny, Des Moines, Johnston, Urbandale and West Des Moines.

Thirty-eight-year-old Angel Anderson of Des Moines is facing charges of 2nd degree robbery and 2nd degree theft. Police say she robbed the Community State Bank at 3540 E. 33rd Street Tuesday morning.

The list of Des Moines police chief candidates has been narrowed to eight, according to a report submitted by the Des Moines Civil Service Commission for Monday's city council meeting. The report listed each candidate that passed examinations and met all of the requirements of the commission.

The head of the Iowa Gaming Association says his members are keeping an eye on the "explosion" in interest in betting on fantasy football on the internet. I-G-A C-E-O Wes Ehrecke says sports and fantasy sports betting are currently illegal in Iowa, but, Iowa casinos want to be "at the table" if any changes are considered.

Progressive group MoveOn, joined by Democracy for America launched their effort to draft Elizabeth Warren at a coffee shop in Des Moines. DFA officially joined the effort at the event pledging $250,000, which is on top of the $1 million MoveOn has already promised to put into the first phase of the campaign.
