A Nebraska filmmaker accused of faking a purchase agreement to get Iowa state tax credits has been convicted of first-degree fraud. The Des Moines Register reports that 64-year-old Dennis Brouse was convicted Friday by a Polk County jury and faces up to 10 years in prison when he's sentenced in March.

Kevin Nash, 55, was arrested on Christmas Eve last year for battery against his son Tristen, 18. Reports indicate that Tristen came home drunk and was being aggressive toward his family, specifically his mother. Nash stepped in and was later arrested for battery.

Iowa is still under a winter storm warning as several inches of snow is already on the ground and more is expected before the warning expires at 9 p.m. Road conditions are poor all over the state. The Iowa Department of Transportation is reporting completely covered roads over much of the state.

An Altoona man was arrested after pointing a gun at a victim and then leading police on a chase in Des Moines Friday evening, the Des Moines Register reported . Jeremy Eugene Sly, 40, of Altoona, was arrested for eluding police, displaying a weapon and operating while under the influence third degree.
